Bangladesh and parts of India, maintain inventory records, and discuss piece weights with customers in bhoris. The unit has been used for centuries in jewelry craftsmanship across various Indian regions and remains deeply integrated into gold trading, jewelry manufacturing, and retail sales, jewelry design specifications, and customer expectations. While South Asian countries have officially adopted the metric system, the vori continues to be widely used in the jewelry trade because of long-standing cultural traditions and established business practices.
